ICA Teacher Orientation

ICA teachers arrived on Thursday, August 25 for five days of orientation before the boarding students arrived on Tuesday, August 30, 2016.

Teachers attended sessions on ICA’s policies and procedures, the Harkness Table philosophy, multiple assessments, differentiated teaching, creative and interactive classrooms and the role of student support services.

Teachers also met by department to review and revise their departmental course standards and strategies. Also, senior faculty mentors worked with new teachers.

Teachers also met in WASC Focus Groups to review the visiting committee’s report and recommendations as well as looking at the strategic plan and WASC Action Plan for the next three years.

ICA Receives 6 Years Accreditation

Headmaster Cheska received notification that the Accrediting Committee of Schools of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges had granted ICA a full six years accreditation until June 30, 2022.

Prefect Orientation

ICA’s 2016/2017 Prefects returned to campus early to under-go leadership training as well as helping to organize and assist in the return of ICA’s student body. Vivian Wu’ 17 was elected Head Prefect and Julian Chu’ 17 was elected.

STUGO Election For the 2016/2017 School Year

On Monday, September 26, 2016 balloting was held for ICA’s student government (STUGO). Janis Huang’17 was elected President, Claire Wang’ 17– Vice President, Lucia Hsieh’ 18– Secretary and Summer Yu’ 17 Treasure.

7th Grade: Abel Ahmad, Theresa Lin

8th Grade: Amy Chen, Sam Kwon

9th Grade: Ray Ho, Steven Huang

10th Grade: Jet Chang, Annabelle Chen, Rita Shen

11th Grade: Peter Chang, Beckham Lin, Reo Liu, Brian Lee

12th Grade: Daniel Chang, Andrew Chen, Shirley Lin, Vivian Wu
