ICA Women in Science

ICA’s science and math programs continue to attract women to the fields of Pre- Medicine, Engineering, Forensics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Architecture.

This year Shirley Lin, class of 2017, has been accepted into the Architecture program at Pratt Institute, Rensselaer Poly Technic Institute, Virginia Tech, Temple University, and New York Institute of Technology with $10000 a year scholarship.

Elena Huang, class of 2017, has been accepted in Forensics to Hofstra University with a $16,000 USA a year scholarship, SUNY Albany with a $7,000 a year scholarship, West Virginia University with a $7,000 a year scholarship, SAGE Albany with a $14,000 a year scholarship, Syracuse University, Drexel University, and Long Island University- C.W. Post Campus.

Also, Joanne Chang, class of 2017, has been accepted in Mechanical Engineering to Merrimack Collage, San Diego State University, Western New England University, Benedictine University, Illinois Institute of Technology, University of Illinois Chicago, and the University of St. Thomas. At the University of Illinois Chicago, Joanne has been accepted into the James Stukel Towers which is the women in science and engineering dormitory wing. She will have monthly dinner with faculty as well as science study groups with faculty in residence.

Sasha Chen, class of 2017, has been accepted in Biomedical Engineering at SUNY Stony Brook and SUN-Buffalo in Electrical engineering, Also, Serenity Chen in Pre Medicine at Bard College; NURO Science at Rutgers University, French at the College of Holy Cross and Brandeis University with a $8500 a year scholarship. Ivy Collegiate Academy’s science program features AP Advanced Placement courses in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics 1 and 2, as well as AP mathematics courses in calculus AB and Calculus BC.
