ICA Track Team
ICA’s Track Team excels in Beijing at the ACAMIS International Track meet held at Beijing International School from May 9 thru May 11, 2019. ICA won 14 Gold Medals, 10 Silver Medals and 17 Bronze Medals. Thirteen school records were set and Max Im ’19 set ACAMIS records in the Shotput and Javelin while the Relay Team of Jim Tseng ’21 , Wilson Chen ’20, Joji Kawamura ’19, and Steven Lai ’22 won 1st Place in the 4X4 Relay and 4X2 Relay and placed 3rd in the 4X1 Relay. ICA’s 4X4 and 4×2 Relay Teams also set ACAMIS Records.
First Place (Gold Medals) winners also included Joji Kawamura ’19 in the 400 Hurdles, Jeonghwa Jang ‘ 21 in the Pentathlon and Edison Lin ’23 in the Junior High 800 Metre Run.
ICA’s Weight Men took First, Second and Third Places in the Discus and Shotput. In the Shotput and Discus, Max Im ’19 placed 1st , Jack Hsu ’20 2nd and Kevin Jeong ’22. Max Im ’19 set a new ACAMIS records in the Javelin with a throw of 42.59 Metres.
In the Womens Competition, Cheryl Yang’ 22 won 5 Medals in 400M, 100M Hurdles, High Jump, 400M Run and 4X4 Relay. Cassia Chen ’21 took a 2nd (Silver) in the Triple Jump. Chelsea Chen ’21 took a 3rd (Bronze) in the High Jump and Cindy Lee ’20 took a 3rd (Bronze) in the Discus. The Women’s Relay Team of Chelsea Chen ’21, Cassia Chen ’21, Cheryl Yang ’22 and Jeonghwa Jang ‘ 21 placed 3rd (Bronze) in the 4X4 Relay.
