ICA Track

The 2019 track and field season will take off running on Friday, March 1^st  with our first meet at Taipei American School. We are very excited to start this season with a record number forty-one student-athletes on the roster. Our girls’ team has more than doubled since last year as our boys’ team has tripled from two years ago. Among the student-athletes, we have nine school record holders returning:12^th grade Tim Sun in the 3000, 10^th grade Jim Tseng in the 100, 12^th grade Joji Kawamura in the 100 and 400 hurdles, 11^th grade Jack Hsu in the discus, 12^th grade Max Im in the Javelin, 9^th grade Cheryl Yang in the 1500, 11^th grade Cindy Lee in the shot put, 10^th grade Cassia Chen in the long and triple jump, and 10^th grade Chelsea Chen in the high jump. Each of them is eager to improve their record. A generous donation from parents to the track program has given us new equipment. This year we are working with forty brand new hurdles and all new throwing equipment (four javelins, two discus and shots). The track team is looking forward to seven competitive track meets this year with hopes of bettering on our second place finish last year at the TISSA tournament.
