ICA Debaters Qualify for US Nationals

From April 6 to April 8, 2018, three ICA students competed in the US National Speech and Debate Taiwan Regional Championship in Taipei, with the chance of representing their school and Taiwan in the NSDA National Championship in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in June if they advanced far enough in the tournament.

The three students were Anabelle Chen (’19), and John An (’19), who competed as a team in Public Forum Debate, and James An (’22), who competed solo in the Original Oratory event. After several challenging rounds, the students discovered that all three of them had qualified for the National Championship competition in Florida.

Overall, these students’ dedication to the program and effort throughout the year has paid off, and ICA is extremely proud to have these students represent our school in an international competition. Congratulations, and best of luck in June!
