ICA Across the World

On August 25,2016 Ivy Collegiate Academy began faculty orientation sessions for fifty returning and new teachers. Also, prefects returned for leadership training and to assist in preparation for the opening of school.

The Varsity Wemen’s Volleyball Team, Mens Varsity, and Junior Varsity Soccer Teams and Girl’s Middle School Soccer players returned for two-a-day practices.

Currently, ICA’s enrollment is 233 students with 50 fulltime teachers and 5 part time teachers. ICA is “operating at capacity and anxiously awaiting the completion of the new building.” According to Headmaster Cheska.

This year, ICA is offering fourteen Advance Placement courses having added World History. Also, German has been added to the World Language Department offerings.

In athletics, ICA is offering 22 interscholastic teams and 14 club sports. A highlight of the fall was the first place finish for the men’s and women’s Varsity Volleyball teams in the Xiamen International Tournament.

The activities program on Tuesday and Thursday continues to grow with 24 club activities such as robotics, MUN, Speech and Debate, ICA News…etc.

ICA athletic teams and clubs continued to be competitive both in Taiwan and internationally.

Last spring, ICA hosted a visiting team from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. In July, Headmaster Cheska received notice that ICA has receive a six years’ term of accreditation until June 30, 2022. This is the highest accreditation that can be awarded.

ICA continues to provide outstanding academic, athletic and activity opportunities for it’s students as well as striving to make continuous progress and improvement.
