Parents’ Day October 18, 2015

Ivy Collegiate Academy welcomed over 345 parents, grandparents, brother, sister and 2 dogs to its annual fall parents day.

The morning began at 10 am with a general meeting in the auditorium where parents viewed ICA in Action. Headmaster, Cheska introduced administrators and faculty members. He also gave a report on the opening of school, ICA’s student body and faculty, ICA’s mission and school wide learning outcomes. Also, presented were pictures of the new building under construction.

After the general meeting, parents visited with teachers and joined the student body for lunch. After lunch, parents could attend a workshop on university admissions or continue to visit with teachers.

At 2 pm, parents were invited to the outside tent for student performances by the ICA strings, a flute quartet, solo performances by Jacky Liang ’16, Justin Ko ’18, and a one piano four hands performance by Janie Huang ’17 and Teresa Chen ’17.

The percussion groups, A and B, delighted the audience with their performances of the Swan Lake Suite, The Galaxy Train and New York, New York.

The Academy Singers concluded the program singing Over the Rainbow and Flying Free. The program ended with the Academy Singers joined by the student body singing ICA’s Alma Mater.
