
ICA Speech Debate in Beijing
On the weekend of December 8-10, the ICA Forensics team traveled to Beijing World Youth Academy for its Speech Competition. ICA has completed in this event for four years now, and again enjoyed great success there. Overall, ICA earned 3rd place among the many schools in attendance. Also, a number of students received recognition for outstanding performances there.
Dory Tung (’19) and Elly Chen (’19) earned 3rd place in High School Duet Acting , having earned 1st place in 2 of their 3 rounds.
Sophia Gao (’22) and Wendy Yu (’22) also performed well in Duet Acting, earning a 2nd place in Middle School Duet Acting.
Jocelyn Yen (’19) earned 3rd place for her Original Oratory.
Rita Shen (’19) earned 3rd place for her Oral Interpretation of Edger Allan Poe’s “Black Cat.”
Also of note is that the Public Forum debate team of Phoebe Chen (’19) and Rita Shen (’19) went 2-1 in their three debate rounds.
