Chinese New Year Celebration

ICA Celebrated the Chinese New Year on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 with an evening performance and dinner. After dinner, Headmaster Cheska presented every student with a red envelope.  The program was sponsored by the Chinese Department.

Mid-term Examinations

January saw ICA students busy studying for midterm examinations. Teachers in every class provided revision sheets in preparation for the exam. All five days a week course exams were two hours in length and all two, three days a week course exams lasted one hour. Examinations were held from January 17 through January 20.

Fine and Performing Arts Discovery Night

On Saturday afternoon, January 21, 2017 the Fine and Performing arts departments presented a program on Ancient Greek music, Aztec art and Mayan sports. Students by house were also asked to participate in Mayan sports , Aztec art and Ancient Greek music events.

The Monologue Show

On Saturday, January 22, The Acting Club presented “The Monologue Show” featuring Jacky Lai ’18 and Eve Hu ’17 with the supporting case of Walter Yeh ’17 and Jerry Yu ’17 and Venus Hou ’17.

Speech and Debate

On Wednesday, January 11, 2017 the 10C Language Arts class presented to the student body “A Night of Monologues”.

WASC Workshop

ICA students were dismissed for the Chinese New Year break on Thursday, January 26 after end of classes. On Friday morning January 27, teachers attended a presentation on the Western Association of School and Colleges criteria, accreditation, the WASC visiting Committee recommendations and the ICA’s Action Plan! The teachers met in their focus groups, Organization of Student Learning , Curriculum, Student Personal and Academic Growth, Resources, Intercultural and International Awareness and the Boarding Curriculum to review ICA’s Mission, Expected school wide learning results and to work on ICA’s Action Plan. In June, ICA received it’s second six year accreditation.
