PICA LO
GRADUATE YEAR 2011
Pica (Now Mia) recently wrote with an update. She has just graduated from the University of Washington through past June and is currently working as a teacher at a child center.
She writes that it is a really challenging and tiring job, but also extremely rewarding and I’ve developed a close relationship with the kids.
Pica plans on moving back to Taiwan next summer and she’s been “Thinking about ICA a lot recently and just reminiscing about all the great memories.”
Brian Chen
GRADUATE YEAR 2012
Brian (PoYu) Chen graduated from Ivy Collegiate Academy with a government scholarship in music in 2012, attended Seattle University, and earned a B.A.A. in International Business. Brian has kept busy this past year working for Big Rice to manufacture and increase demand for biodegradable substitutes for the plastics we use so widely today. Big Rice Biotech has developed a formula of biodegradable plant materials that can replace everyday plastics like tableware with eco-friendly products. Brian recently returned from Malaysia where he met with corporate leaders to reflect on ways businesses in Southeast Asia might replace plastic with more environmentally responsible material. Brian is an example of an ICA Alumni taking the lead the improve the future in changing the way the world views and creates pollution and waste.

“I finished my military service in Marines Special Forces in 2012. I just graduate from SUNY New Paltz with International Business major and Asian Studies minor. I’ve been experienced a lot of leadership position at school such as International Student Union President, Economics Club Social Media & Outreach etc. Currently I’m doing marketing internship with Mass Mutual at New York. Just giving you a updated on my recent 5 years. I’ve been pushing myself really hard because I want to be successful in future. I appreciated the education and your leadership at ICA. That really help me a lot along my journey. I will visit ICA when I have the chance.”
